Android Founder Andy Rubin launched The Essential Phone

Andy Rubin launched The Essential Phone. If you don’t follow tech news then you may haven’t heard about either Andy Rubin or The Essential Phone or both! Andy Rubin is famous as “The Father of Android”. He co-founded Android Inc. in 2003.

And recently, Andy Rubin created a smartphone company named ‘Essential’ and launched ‘The Essential Smartphone’ through his company. It was one of the most awaited Android smartphones.

The model number of the phone is Essential PH-1 and the concept behind launching a new smartphone company and a new smartphone is to pack all the essential features and components into a flagship smartphone at a lower price.

The smartphone is powered by latest octa-core SoC Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 and Adreno 540 GPU handles all the graphics duties. It has 4GB RAM and a huge 128GB of high-speed UFS 2.1 storage. The device has 3,040mAh battery which is quite low but it supports fast charging. It has USB Type-C port and comes with a  27W fast charger.

The Essential PH-1 not only follows the bezel-less trend but it takes the trend one step ahead; it has a display that touches the edges on three sides, and the display wraps around the front camera. The device has 5.71″ Quad-HD display with round curves on the sides. The phone uses a combination of titanium and ceramic in the outer shell.

The device does not have a 3.5mm audio jack. It has dual rear camera setup with both the camera having a 13MP resolution. First one is an RGB sensor with f/1.85 aperture and Hybrid Auto Focus; another one is a 13MP Monochrome sensor. The front camera is an 8MP sensor with f/2.2 aperture.

The Essential PH-1 costs $699 and it is available in four different colours which are as follows: Black Moon, Stellar Grey, Pure White and Ocean Depths.
