Vivo V5s

Being a smartphone made with selfies in mind, the Vivo V5s has a great front facing camera, in fact, it is a higher resolution camera than its rear camera. Yes, we have already seen cameras in such fashion in several smartphones. The Vivo V5s has a 13 MP rear camera while the selfies are taken by the 20 MP camera on the front. Of course, both cameras have flash. The front camera has “Moonlight Flash” – what Vivo advertises to offer great selfie quality.

Vivo V5s Specifications

On the internals, the Vivo V5s has a good amount of firepower. The display found on Vivo V5s is a 5.5 inch IPS LCD display with 1280 x 720p resolution which is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. It is powered by a MediaTek MT6750 1.5 GHz Octa-core processor coupled with a 4 GB of RAM. Mali T860 video card is there for graphics solution. The phone also has a 64 GB internal storage with microSD card support up to 256 GB. The phone has a 3,000 mAh battery pack which is not user-replaceable.

The rear camera is a 13 MP PDAF, f/2.0 aperture and flash unit with 1080p video recording support. It also has beautification mode, panorama, timelapse, slow motion video recording and pro shooting modes. There is a 20 MP front facing camera with flash and f/2.2 aperture just like the Vivo V5. This the major selling point of the Vivo V5s – they advertise it as a selfie smartphone.

Other than that, the smartphone has all usual connectivity options like WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, USB 2.0 with OTA support, GPS with GLONASS and dual-SIM support. The phone runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with the Vivo’s very own Funtouch OS 3.0 UI.

The phone will be available in Matte Black, Crown Gold, Space Grey and Rose Gold colours. It will be available in a 64 GB variant in India starting from today.

Vivo V5s Price

The Vivo V5s will be priced at Rs. 18,990 in India. It was priced at 9,990 Thai Baht in Thailand and that converts around the 18,990 in Indian Rupee. So we can expect the price to be around it. The smartphone will be launched today with the launch event live stream on the company’s official site from 12:45 PM. It is well spread on its social media accounts.

So it looks like Vivo V5s will focus on the selfie lovers with its entry. The 20 MP selfie shots do sound intriguing. It will be sure to gain interest after launch. So tell us what you think about the phone in the comment section below.
